After checking the road closures, we bundled up and headed outside. The plan was to enjoy our snow day as much as possible.
So, Ced grabbed a cardboard box and trudged up the street in hopes to sled to the bottom of the hill. He reached the peak and jumped. . .
into a position I like to call "The Box Tackle."
Needless to say, he didn't go anywhere.
So we walked onward to the park.
We saw puddles frozen in motion. . .
how birds fought over scraps of food. . .
and bunny tracks.
It was a very peaceful walk around the neighborhood.
We made it to the park in hopes of some successful home-made sledding.
It sorta worked. . .
and had its faults. . .
We soon abandoned that method and tried other snow activities.
My first snow angel! |
I added a large smiley.
We then created snow thrones.
We walked the edge of the park admiring the height of snow drifts.
Fun had, we picked our way back home to enjoy hot chocolate.
But our fun was not over.
We noticed our kitties' interest in the outdoors and decided to see what they would do given the opportunity to venture outside. Anticipating just a sniff and a refusal to go further, we opened the patio door to let Amelia make her decision to stay indoors. To our surprise, she jumped! (I didn't anticipate this action, so no photographic evidence exists.)
Mimi immediately realized she did not enjoy snow. After awkwardly maneuvering for footing, she jumped back indoors and pranced away to a warm spot.
Wanting to discover Mr. D's reaction, we gave him the same opportunity.
